Positive trims are greater at idle

Compare both banks and check for unmetered air before changing an airflow table.

A PROCESS, NOT A GUESS

Start with the basics.
Build your understanding.

Follow the course from setup to validation, then return to the tools whenever you need practice.

01 / LEARN

A guided starting point

Choose a GM vehicle profile. Learn channels, fuel trims, lambda, airflow, spark, idle, and transmission fundamentals in sequence.

02 / PRACTICE

A place to experiment

Read synthetic tables, generate ten-minute logs, make a practice change, and compare the result. Save your notes and export progress.

03 / INVESTIGATE

Make your log useful

Import a CSV, map the channels, and review possible issues with timestamps, likely causes, checks, and educational next steps.

Built around GM fundamentals.

Deepest practice coverage: naturally aspirated, port-injected gasoline V8 examples. Vehicle selection organizes your learning; it does not provide a factory calibration. Diesel, direct injection, boost, and unknown profiles have limited coverage.

FREE INTERACTIVE EXAMPLE

Read the pattern.
Then test your thinking.

Both banks add fuel at idle, then move closer to zero during cruise. What would you investigate first?

This is one synthetic teaching example. A pattern points to a test; it does not prove a diagnosis.

BEFORE YOU START

A few clear answers.

Will it tune my vehicle for me?

No. TuneSteps teaches a process and flags possible issues. It does not connect to a vehicle, write calibrations, generate a ready-to-flash tune, or replace mechanical diagnosis.

Can I use my HP Tuners log?

Export a CSV from your scanning software, then map its channels inside the lab. Availability and quality of the recorded channels determine what can be evaluated. Proprietary HPT tune files are not decoded.

Where does my CSV go?

The supplied analyzer processes your CSV in your browser. Progress and notes stay in that browser, separated by account. Export a backup to move progress to another device.

Does it include personal tuning support?

No. Access covers the educational software. Contact tunelabservice@gmail.com for account or billing questions.

Is this an official HP Tuners or GM product?

No. TuneSteps is independent educational software and is not affiliated with HP Tuners or General Motors. Manufacturer names identify the subject of the training.
